“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” – Maya Angelou
Butterflies have a very special personal meaning to me. When I think of the realities that a butterfly has to go through, I am amazed at the perseverance and anguish it must endure to become such a beautiful part of creation.
Do you see your struggles as beauty marks in your journey? Life is full of pain and disappointments. We can either wallow in them and be a victim, or we can grow through them to spread our wings and show our beauty.
When you choose to grow and embrace the beauty from your scars, you become free from the wounds and wounders.
I know for myself that my pain has produced my biggest growth spurts in life. I get to know my needs improvement areas that need refined very quickly in the midst of my trials. Because of that I can honestly say that I would not be who I am today if I had not gone through the rough times. It’s not that I welcome them, but I appreciate what they do in my life.
So try to take a step back the next time you find yourself in a hard spot and breathe to know that this battle will end well if you allow it to change your life for the better on the other side.
After the pain, you might end up like a beautiful butterfly!
